Processor manufacturer AMD is rumored to have hired a former Apple employee, Jim Keller to occupy the position of Vice President and Chief Architect of Microprocessor Cores.

TechRadar reported on Friday (08/03/2012), Keller previously served as director at architecture group of Apple platform. The focus is on mobile products.

He is hailed as the architect of several generations of mobile processors, including processors series A were found on the iPad, iPhone, iPod and Apple TV.

“Jim is one of the innovators who the most respect and sought after in the industry. He is an additional strength to our technicians team,” said AMD Chief Technology Officer, Mark Papermaster.

In AMD, Keller will lead the design of microprocessor core to compliment with corporate strategy to develop high-performance processors, but still lower energy consumption. The principle is the foundation for the future AMD products.
